Artist statement:
Some of my fondest memories as a child were trips to the milk bar to buy iconic sweets like gummy dinosaurs, snakes and killer pythons. With this collection I’m weaving these colourful characters into some of my favourite pop culture moments and movies. Taking these sugary icons out of their known context creates new stories and narratives. And in these heavy times, it’s comforting we can all unite over refined sugar, high fructose corn syrup and questionable grades of food colouring.
