I’m Ellie, a 24 year old Melbourne based textile, ceramic, and digital artist. Through my brand, Velvet Slipperz, I aim to reduce textile waste by repurposing discarded fabrics into unique, ethically made fashion pieces. My work combines sustainability with creativity, making fashion that’s both beautiful and kind to the planet. I started sewing at age 10 and rediscovered my passion through a personal project—making myself a business shirt. This led to Velvet Slipperz, where I focus on creating accessible, sustainable fashion at affordable prices. Each piece is crafted with care in Melbourne, with the goal of making a small but meaningful difference in reducing waste in the fashion industry.
